This is is a 14-minute video performance.
During the projection I will be inside a simple square structure covered on all four sides with white fabric so that you will only see my silhouette. I will have different ethnic instruments and different saxophones as well as a microphone and some sound effects : looper, tremolo, delay, etc … the sound will be playing for the whole duration of the the projection.
The projection must be repeated a second time, the sound recorded in the first 14 minutes will used during the second loop projection and there will be an overlap of sound with the new improvisation on the one already recorded, therefore for a minimum time of 28 minutes. Afterwards the video and sound can continue in a loop for the required time.

Reality always exceeds fantasy.

This series of drawings started in november 2019 is the result of free graphic expression, in which the only guiding reference is the silhouette that always appears as a leitmotif at the bottom of the page. The universe that is created in space is most of the time undefined and composed of tentative scribblings, mere suggestions which stop short like a a child’s doodle, the last flecks of a haphazard automatic movement which either builds or destructs the sign, which can give shape to something “recognizable” as an object, a face, an animal or other, and only then decides whether to define and focus itself or just stay as a blurry background.
In this way, we are invited to sharpen our look to discover many situations that are hardly suggested and thus give the observer enough space to imagine one or more stories that in the end will always remain suspended and indefinite. After looking at the first drawing, I thought of a phrase linked to an image : “The sleep of reason produces monsters” from the title of an etching by Francisco Goya, in the Los Caprichos series. The white and neutral space has always been a challenge for me both in painting and in drawing but it is much more than this, it is an act of conscience : everything that transpires from this neutral background, from the written word to drawings and paintings, leaves a sign whether we want it or not. That’s why for a long time I have used drawing in a graphic and analytical way, so that what I mean can be read clearly.
Today the impromptu and modelless sign becomes warmer and more nomadic, going from paradox to confusion, but never used as a bland filling because it is conscious. The sign can be lyrical, cacophonic, analytical, static, logical, paradoxical, poetic, vulgar, sometimes violent even if control is ever-present.
In the first place there is always my leitmotiv, Man, so I start on a path never defined or determined beforehand, like an adventure, like a walk in the woods without paths, like a journey without a destination, like …. The Journey. I wander in this small space, slightly larger than an A4 sheet, which becomes incredibly large in relation to the medium used, that is, a fine-tipped feltpen, like the tiny transmitter of the synapses that float in the macrocosm of the unconscious. This immersion in myself, as I am walking or running in the noumenon, also leads, for those who are ready to give it time, to going on an intimate and meditative journey, therefore an unspoken, a hidden image, a story to compose which gives space to personal interpretation. In this journey into the unknown the definitions of Limbo and Bardo coincide ; however, while in the first this non-place is animated by anxiety and restlessness, in the second we are taught that with the profound liberation of the mind you are ready to meet the peaceful and angry deities with serenity and without fear.
